Assembly District 78

 
 
 

The 78th Assembly District includes communities within the City of San Diego generally east of I-5/UTC, south of Los Peñasquitos Canyon, and north of downtown and mid-city. It also includes portions of El Cajon north of I-8.

Neighborhoods include: Mira Mesa, Sorrento Mesa, Miramar, Clairemont, Kearny Mesa, Serra Mesa, Linda Vista, Tierrasanta, Mission Valley, Old Town, Mission Hills, Hillcrest, Bankers Hill/Park West, Middletown, North Park, South Park, Golden Hill, University Heights, Normal Heights, Kensington, Talmadge, College Area, Allied Gardens, Del Cerro, San Carlos, and Grossmont/El Cajon.

 
 

The Assembly District has a number of strong sectors, assets, and characteristics that make it one of the best in the state. Educational institutions like San Diego State University, University of San Diego, and our community colleges create tens of thousands of new highly skilled professionals each year.  Healthcare, Finance, Tourism, Biotechnology, Education, Government, Military and Defense, and other industries are proud to call the district home.

Old Town, the San Diego River, and Balboa Park are among the many natural resources and parks important to protect, in addition to quality of life and affordability for our vibrant neighborhoods.
